Capturing a continent or an area in its beauty has always been a great aspiration for many artists to create something special. One would not think of Antarctica - Earth's southernmost continent or of the North Pole as sources of inspiration for art and design. But things are changing...
Antarctica is one of the world's purest, most fragile and unique place - it’s like another planet, a utopia. Its amazing nature and diverse wildlife, have made it particularly interesting for photographers and artists in the last decades and to draw further attention to it the 1st Antarctic Biennale was held in 2017.
How Project Nord got inspired by Antarctica?
As Antarctica is the least populated place on the Earth, our artists got inspiration from the feeling of solitude and peace evoked by the Antarctic nature. The aim was to create something minimalistic to complement any Scandinavian interior. The colours of blue, grey and white fit well with virtually any design. Our tip: these posters are the perfect choice for your kid's room!
But there is more to Antarctica’s breathtaking nature and landscapes and for this reason, we have decided to showcase its amazing wildlife in our artworks. Inspired by the famous ‘Find Waldo’ game, we have hidden an animal in each poster - let’s see if you can spot it!
